How to stop lipstick bleeding (lipstick please don’t run!)

Hey Hey everyone! Happy hump day 🙂

Someone asked me about lip liner and how to prevent your lipstick from running, so I came up with a few short tips and tricks that work for me.

1.Lip liner itself will not stop lipstick from running completely, but it does help. It’s meant to define your lips and make them look fuller.

2.When using lip liner don’t go over your natural lip line, there shouldn’t be a ring around your mouth lol. Your natural lip line is there to guide you. 20150428_080634 (1)
3.Lip liner is not always needed, if you’ve got a nice bold color lining your lips won’t be necessary.IMG_20150423_220256 (1)IMG_20150417_183110
4.If you want to prevent bleeding use finishing powder (specifically a translucent powder with no pigment) around your lips. Lightly dusting it over your lips and around your mouth; you wont need a lot the goal here is to prevent it from bleeding, not to look ashy lol. If your lipstick continues to bleed it may just be the quality of the product. This technique also works if you want to make a shiny lipstick look matte. You can also try a matte lipstick which is designed to remain flat and is not shinny or a lip stain.nyx hd powder

Lip liner is a simple way to bring definition to your lips and even enhance the color of your lipstick. Often times your lipstick and lip liner will match one another, but every once in a while it’s nice to get creative and switch up the colors, for example using a light and dark color to make an ombre effect.
