Hey Beauties welcome back,
So for my mid-week post I’d like to talk about my face care regimen (or lack there of). Let’s be honest we all set out to wash our face, moisturize, exfoliate, prep, prime, blah, blah, blah, and by the end of the week we’ve fallen asleep in our makeup, popped that annoying pimple, and completely abandoned our routine. If I didn’t describe you congratulations! You probably have beautiful skin and are a little disappointed in what I mentioned lol If I did describe you lets get back on track 🙂
First things first the most important part of a skincare regimen is the routine. You’ve got to commit to a system. Everyday particularly at the same time if you can. Getting into the habit makes it easier to follow through. Of course life happens but you gotta do your best to stick to the script!
When I’m committed lol these are the steps I follow morning and night:
1. I wash my face with Oil of Olay Ultra Moisture Beauty Bar. I love this soap, I have sensitive skin and it leaves my skin soft and not irritated.
2.*** Update instead of using Garnier I use Apricot Scrub, which I mentioned in my August favorites.***
Next I exfoliate with Garner Clean + Invigorating Daily Scrub. It has Jojoba Beads that gently exfoliate and the peppermint gives your face a nice cool, tingling sensation. Really wakes you up in the morning. I have never been acne prone but as I got older I got more breakouts and because I have sensitive skin sometime the breakouts left small scars. this helps to even my skin.
3. Now after the cleaning and exfoliating it’s important to put the moisture back into your skin. I currently have medicated moisturizer prescribed to me by a dermatologist, however prior to using that I used Ponds Dry Skin Cream. In addition to sensitive skin, I have Eczema so my skin can get dry from time to time. So this moisturizer worked great for that. But it can be a little greasy so I would not recommend using a lot, or before applying liquid foundation especially if you have oily skin. They make a few different moisturizers so just assess your skin type before making a selection.
4. That is my morning routine. At night time, I leave out the exfoliating and change my moisturizer. I recently started using Garnier Ultra Lift Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream. Now it is too soon to say whether it works or not (sorry). But it’s always good to get a head start on anti-aging methods. However we are going to get older, we may get wrinkles, and our smile may have a few extra lines but that doesn’t mean we’ll be any less beautiful 🙂 It’s just a part of life.
Extra Tips to Consider: Drink water!, Don’t go to sleep in your makeup, and clean your makeup brushes. Also it’s been said that it’s best to use one brand for your skincare routine because all the products will work together. However you have to do what works best for you, and just know that it takes time for the products to work, don’t stop using it after one week (unless your skin is getting irritated) give it time.Check out my other post Beauty and the Breakout for more helpful hints.
And there you have it my skincare routine that I follow 75% of time lol just being honest. But in all seriousness do your best to commit to a system and it will really help with the overall look and feel of your skin. Don’t forget to like, comment, and follow or share with a friend, sharing is caring. Until next time…
Be blessed Beauties
