Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all doing well and pressing forward as we move 1 day closer to the weekend. Today I wanted to talk about “why I wear makeup” Recently on social media a few beauty vloggers have been taking a stand as to why they wear makeup and how people respond to them when they aren’t wearing any.

I enjoy makeup, I can’t say that I always have though. When I first started wearing makeup I didn’t want to wear too much because I did not want to appear “fake”, or being something I’m not, or appear as if I was trying to look better than the people around me. So I kept it very basic, lip gloss and eyeliner. I ran with that all throughout High School, even wore it to prom. Then one day out of the blue while I was doing my makeup my mom said “You are beautiful with or without makeup, makeup can only enhance what you already have”. That was one of those “AH-HA” moments in life when you see the light and it all makes sense; if it was a commercial the church choir would have sprang up in the background and a white dove would have flown above us lol. I say all of that to say it really changed they way I looked at myself and how I did my makeup.

Bottom line I wear makeup for me and no one else. I love how makeup can bring out your best features (sometimes your worst if you don’t apply it correctly lol), all the colors, the joys of opening a new lip gloss, I just love everything about it.

I have always been into art, and makeup is another form of art for me. I am a walking display of the art that I have created on my face. Is everyone going to like my art work? no, do I care ? no lol It’s not about pleasing anyone it’s about how it makes you feel. If you don’t feel good inside no amount of makeup will change that anyway. If you have a bad attitude no amount of makeup will make you pretty. If you love makeup wear it and be proud, don’t let anyone make you feel bad for it, you’re you with or without it! If you don’t wear makeup guess what, that’s great too. I don’t wear makeup everyday and I still feel good about myself. I wear makeup because I like too and there is nothing wrong with that.
