Happy Monday! I hope that you all had a fabulous day! 4 days away from not just the weekend but the New Year. Are you ready for new beginnings? While you’re your preparing for the New Year, start it off with some nice lips lol. Today’s post is about lip care, there is just enough time to get ready for your New Year’s Eve kiss 🙂
My lip care routine is very simple, the key to great lips is keeping them moisturized. Just like the rest of your skin, your lips need to be hydrated. My product of choice is petroleum jelly, I have been using this since I was kid because that’s what my mom uses. But you can use whatever works for you, Carmax, EOS lip balm, Chap-stick, etc. It really doesn’t matter just use something to keep them from getting dry and chapped.
If your lips are dry or chapped check out my post on Lip Exfoliation here: https://beautybyelyse.net/2015/06/12/diy-lip-exfoliator/

Proper lip care helps with lip gloss and lipstick application, it goes on much smoother and helps the products to last longer. If you are into matte lipsticks like I am, I would suggest moisturizing your lips before applying the lipstick. Matte lipsticks are meant to be dry, but your lips don’t have to feel dry.
(1). Moisturize your lips with your product of choice. (2). Then place primer over your lips. Not only will this help the application of the lipstick, but it will also make the lipstick last longer. This will work for regular lipstick and lip gloss application as well.
Taking care of your interior is just as important as your exterior, the best way to keep your skin hydrated is drinking water and lots of it. It doesn’t matter how much lotion you use or lip balm you put on, if your not drinking enough water your body will let you know. Some signs are brittle dry hair, blemishes and breakouts, dry skin, chapped lips, and even headaches can occur. So make sure you don’t neglect to get that daily dose of water!!
I hope this helps, feel free to share it with your friends and family. Friends don’t let friends walk around with dry chapped lips lol. Until next time…
