How to have a Spa day…at home

Hey Beauties!!!

Hope you all had a lovely, and well rested weekend. Some of us may of had an extended weekend due to the observation of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday yesterday. My weekend was spent with good company and a mini day trip to Vermont. If you have never been to Vermont its a cute little state, especially in Autumn! the foliage is unmatched.

Moving right along I want to talk to you guys about having the perfect spa day at home. Let’s face it sometimes you don’t have the time or the money to go out and take a personal day, so why not do it at home? I have personal spa days at home all the time. The only thing missing is a masseuse lol. Other than that you can enjoy a relaxing day at home.

Things you’ll need:

1.Candles/ Scented Oils

2. Feel good music

3. Exfoliating gloves

4.Body cream

5. Face Mask

5. Manicure/pedicure nail set

6. Foot bath (or water basin)

7. Nail Polish

So most of these items you might already have at home if not on your next trip to Target or Wal*mart grab the things that you need. This doesn’t have to be an expensive spa day, just a relaxing one.

First things first you need a calming aroma to set the mood. I like Jasmine Bamboo warming oil. It cost around $5.00 and last for two hours. If oils aren’t your thing opt for  candles, they create a tranquil environment as well.

Next you’re going to need some music, I like the “soothing waters” station on Pandora. But this is your day so do whatever you like. 🙂

Once you’ve set the mood it’s time to bathe and exfoliate. Exfoliation helps to smooth the skin by getting rid of dry and dead skin cells. It’s not necessary to exfoliate your skin every day but once a week is sufficient (in my opinion, but I’m no doctor lol). I like to use exfoliating gloves with Soft Soap body wash. You can also use an exfoliating scrub made from sea salt or sugar.

Now that we are all clean and feeling smooth we have to moisturize our skin. I love the body cream lotions from Bath and Body Works. During this time of year I love “Vanilla Bean Noel” scent.

Now let’s clean and refresh our face with a cool cucumber mask. My go-to mask is by Freeman brand. It’s called ” Feeling Beautiful Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask”. This too can be purchased at Wal*Mart or Target for around $6.00. This gentle mask cleans the skin and clears it from impurities. It’s recommended that you use it once or twice a week (or as often as needed).

Now that we’re looking good and smelling fresh the last two orders of business are our nails. If you have been following my blog for a while you know I’m all about my nails. I probably change the polish on my nails once a week (that can be deemed a little excessive, however I don’t care). So it’s only right that at our at home spa day we do our nails too. You should have a nail file, nail clipper and cuticle remover handy.

For my feet I like to soak them in my Conair heating, bubble, foot bath. Now if you don’t have one of these a water basin will do, or kill two birds with one stone and let your feet soak while you take a bath. 🙂

I like to add lavender scented Epsom salt to the water while they soak. It soothes my feet while leaving them silky smooth. You can use a pumice stone or the exfoliating gloves I mentioned earlier to take any dead skin off your feet. Once you have washed them off, filed and clipped your nails they are ready for polish!! My favorite brands are Essie, and OPI. This is your chance to get creative, have a little fun with your nails, pick a color that you would never use!Screenshot_2016-01-14-22-57-10-1 (1)

Spa day complete! Now you can tweek this anyway you choose add some things, or remove some it’s totally up to you. As always I hope you enjoyed this post 🙂 Feel free to share it with your friends, heck get your friends together and have an Spa day together. Until next time …

Be Blessed Beauties
